Hello!

I was born 2,850 meters above the sea level near the equator in Quito, Ecuador. I can still remember the spark that ignited within me when I first learned to read, maybe it was in anticipation of what would become a lifelong passion for reading and an obsession with proper spelling and grammar.

After I graduated high school, I decided to become a journalist and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at the Universidad Central del Ecuador and an English Proficiency Certificate at the Language Institute of the Escuela Politécnica del Ejército (ESPE). I then put my newfound skills to the test, working in both the public and private sector in fields such as television, public relations, content creation, and
text editing.

Destiny brought me to Houston, Texas, the fourth largest city in the United States. After living there for 15 years, I can honestly say that I love the rodeo, Tex-Mex food, and Dynamo, Houston´s official soccer team. I consider myself a true Houstonian at heart. During this time, I worked for the Hispanic media (Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation, Univision Communications Inc., and Bluefin Media) as an online content editor. I was responsible for generating daily content and translating information, as well as managing the organizations´websites.

But life is an adventure! I moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I have lived for the past six years. During this time, I obtained a master’s degree in specialized translation from the Universitat Oberta de Cataluña and was hired by the industrial packaging company Bulk-Flow to translate its website from English into Spanish. I have also taken on many translation freelance opportunities in different fields, including the oil and gas industries.

But it hasn´t been all studying and working. I have traveled the country and learned about Spain´s culture, traditions, food, and exquisite Spanish dialect. I have also had the opportunity to travel to different countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. From big cities to small towns, I have appreciated the beauty of each place and its people. They have forged in me an open mind and the desire to keep learning.

I want to put my professional experience, knowledge, and skills to work for those businesses that want to reach the Hispanic and Latino market. To learn more about my skills and experience, check out my professional resume, posted below.
